The holiday season is here and there are several fun and exciting events going on around Brunswick County this Christmas, 2017. Here are just some of our favorites.
Christmas at the Old Sunset Beach Bridge – On December 7 at 6:00 PM, Christmas at the Old Bridge event will feature a community sing-along featuring the West Brunswick high school chorus and singers from the Seaside United Methodist Church. There will be holiday themed refreshments and this event is free.
Southport Winterfest December 1 – 10. Let the holiday festivities began at various venues throughout Southport. Enjoy a live theater, Nutcracker Tea Party, cookie contests, supper with Santa’s elves, a Polar Express movie night, costume history tour, Christmas fire engine parade, and on December 9 is the winter craft Festival at Franklin Sq., Park. There are lots of events going on including a Christmas tour of homes in downtown Southport. Browse all of the events and their schedule here.
Bolivia Christmas Parade – December 16 at 6:00 PM on the Old Ocean Highway in Bolivia. It starts at the Brunswick County Government Complex to Wilson Street. The line begins at 5:00 pm and of course it’s free!
Ugly Christmas Sweater Run – It seems there is a fun run for everything these days so why not an ugly Christmas Sweater? This 5K and Reindeer Run is on December 16 at 8:00 AM starting at the Waterfront Park at 105 E Bay Street in Southport. Registration starts at $20. So wear your antlers and Christmas sweater and come on out!
Candy Cane Flashlight Hunt – On December 15 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at 4446 Fish Factory Road SE in Oak Island is the annual candy cane hunt. Search for candy canes and glow-in-the-dark eggs with the whole family on the softball field at William Smith Park. There are three events for those 4 and under, ages 5-8, and ages 9-12. The event is free.
