The weather is cooling down, all the summer travelers are back home and somehow the Holiday Season is upon us! With the Holidays right around the corner, many people are already planning out their weekends with festivities, and when living in Brunswick County there’s plenty of activities to get you into the Holiday spirit!
Holiday Events in 2024
Ocean Isle Beach Flotilla
Another annual favorite is the Ocean Isle Beach Flotilla! Held the Saturday after Thanksgiving, you can gather your friends and family on November 30th at dusk (roughly 5:30) and enjoy a parade unlike any other! The annual Ocean Isle Beach Flotilla is a beautiful boat parade that boasts beautifully lit boats putting through the water, a true family favorite of the Holiday Season.
Ocean Isle Beach Letters to Santa
Fun for the whole family! On November 29th at 6pm you can bring the family to Town Center Park to watch the Christmas Tree Lighting. Festivities include face painting, light displace, a visit from Santa, a letter writing station complete with a mailbox to the North Pole, and so much more! You won’t want to miss this family friendly event!
Shallotte Christmas Parade
This annual parade is looked forward to by locals each and every year and is consistently scheduled for the first Saturday in December. December 7th at 10am (keep in mind roads will be closed started at 8am), you can come and enjoy the Christmas parade. Starting at the intersection of Main St./Whiteville Rd and ending at Main St./Smith Ave. there are plenty of great spots to view the parade as it dances is way down the street.
Calabash Christmas Tree Lighting
Located in the business district at Callahan’s of Calabash, you can attend the Calabash Christmas Tree Lighting and parade. The event is scheduled for Friday, December 6th at 6pm and you can enjoy a true small-town parade complete with carols, steaming hot chocolate, and of course, a visit from the big man himself, Santa Claus!
Southport Winterfest
If one activity isn’t enough, then you’re sure to love Southport Winterfest! Boasting a full week of Holiday activities, you can enjoy an assortment of activities from December 6th-14th from tree lighting ceremonies to pet photos with Santa, cookie decorating and more, it will be a week you’ll never forget!
